The St Clair County Collector's Office provides taxpayers the option of paying their taxes online. Payments for current and delinquent real estate and personal property taxes are accepted online. Please note that the most delinquent year tax must be paid before current years. Taxpayers may pay these taxes online with a credit card. Credit cards accepted are American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. A convenience fee will apply to each transaction when using this service. The Collector's Office does not charge or retain any of the transaction fees. Before finalizing your transaction you will be asked to agree to the fee amount added. The fee amounts for credit cards are 2.75% of the total tax amount. When making a tax payment online, please print the paid confirmation for your records. Payments will be considered paid as of the date the payment is made. A paid tax receipt will be mailed to the address on record. The Department of Revenue will only accept a paid tax receipt from the St Clair County Collector's office. If you need a faster turn around time, you can pay, in person, at our office. This service will be down each night from 1am to 2am for maintenance. The online tax payment system depends on the successful operation of many electronic systems and devices, many of which are beyond the control of the Collector's Office. We cannot guarantee the availability of the online tax payment system at all times. We highly recommend that you do not wait until the last minute in order pay your taxes online. The Collector's Office can not be responsible for any late charges or penalties resulting from the unavailability of the online tax payment system.
